Due to COVID-19 we are currently holding classes online ONLY. NJ requires masks to be worn and does not permit contact between students for indoors martial arts instruction. We additionally feel that with many school aged children returning to school and flu season around the corner that training in person adds additional risk with no real benefit. As soon as we are sure it is safe we will resume our in person classes. Learn more about our in person classes.
While we are teaching remotely we’ve been driving around delivering smiles and promotions for our students who have remained disciplined in their training by continuing their practice during the pandemic. We are very proud of these kids (and their parents!) for putting in the work.
Interested in joining us and you’re not from the area? No problem! We will send your child’s uniform by mail and rolls of the tape we use for promotions. We will coordinate with you when it’s time to promote your child. When it’s time for a new belt we’ll send that to you too. When things calm down and you’re ready to have your child train in person we will help you find a school near you that will be a good fit.
Children’s Martial Arts
Our children’s program is a full self defense program, meaning we teach punching, kicking, and ground-based self defense. Your child will spend two days per week working on punching/kicking and how to defend his/herself when standing, and then two days working on ground-based submissions and defenses.
Children’s Martial Arts (4-8)
Our online children’s martial arts classes for 4-8 year olds feature basic technique and movement drills designed for kids to work alone with a grappling dummy/punching bag or with a parent/sibling. These classes are geared towards the younger age group by adding fun and a lot of patience! Each class works on fundamental fitness exercises designed to keep your child healthy and moving. We also allow children as young as 3 to try a trial class to see if they are ready for an early start.
Children’s Martial Arts (9-13)
Our 9-13 year old classes feature technique and movement drills designed for kids to work alone with a grappling dummy/punching bag or with a parent/sibling. These classes are geared towards the older age group by focusing on how specific movements and drills tie together. Each class works on fundamental fitness exercises designed to keep your child healthy and moving. New students who are already 13 may be placed in the adult classes on a case-by-case basis.
Adult Martial Arts (14+)
Our adult martial arts program is open to participants ages 14 and up and includes Mixed Martial Arts (Jeet Kune Do), No-Gi Submission Grappling, Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW – Erik Paulson), and Catch-as-Catch-Can (Scientific Wrestling – Billy Robinson).
Adult Martial Arts: Grappling
Our adult martial arts classes for grappling feature technique and movement drills that can be applied to both gi and no gi grappling. Classes are designed for adults to work alone with a grappling dummy, or with a partner. Our grappling classes feature techniques from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, Shooto, Catch Wrestling, and Judo. Some classes will add gi grips/gi based techniques, but a gi is not mandatory for our online classes and no gi alternatives will be demonstrated for our no gi practitioners.
Adult Martial Arts: Striking
Our adult martial arts classes for striking feature technique and foot work drills for stand up fighting/self-defense. Classes are designed for adults to work with a punching bag or a partner holding mitts/pads. Our striking curriculum includes techniques from Muay Thai, Western Boxing, Jeet Kune Do (JKD), Savate, Silat, and Kali.
