Many martial arts schools focus either on self defense while standing (Karate, Tae Kwon Do) or while on the ground (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). Nearly all altercations start while standing, and most end up on the ground. At Brazen Martial Arts our kid’s curriculum places equal emphasis on both standing and ground situations and also how to move between the two in order to ensure your child has the tools necessary to protect themselves. We teach children that violence is always a last resort. We focus on teaching them to be aware of their surroundings and to seek help from an adult when possible.
We offer classes in Mixed Martial Arts/Self Defense for children ages 6 and up Monday-Friday. Multiple certified adult instructors are present to ensure proper supervision and individual attention. All children begin at white belt. They are then reassessed at regular intervals where they have the opportunity to earn stripes or advance their belt color (depending on their current status). With children we are primarily focused on focus, self-discipline, teamwork, and building confidence. Advancement at Brazen Martial Arts is dependent on these key factors as well as individual improvement from the previous assessment rather than predefined milestones.
We offer classes for our Early Start FUNdamentals program for children ages 3-5 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This class serves as an early introduction to martial arts for young children and will teach them the basics of self defense through play. We allow children younger than 3 to try the program to see if they are ready for an early start. Your child must be potty-trained in order to attend this class.
